PLANTING FOR HEDGES AND WINDBREAKS

Plant rods 30cm apart in double staggered rows. Keep weed free. Cut back after first years growth to encourage multiple shoots. (image right >>)

PLANTING FOR LIVE WILLOW SCULPTURES

Using one - two year old willow, push material through black plastic to a depth of 25 - 30cm. This will prevent weed growth and allow rods to grow unhindered. If necessary use a crow bar to push holes through to a depth of 30 - 40cm for larger rods.

Push willow rods into ground, then weave together overhead or at side depending on your sculpture.
